Joie Bauer was born and raised on a farm in Morse Bluff, NE. He graduated,
a classically trained actor, with a BFA in Acting from the University of South Dakota.
After graduation Joie spent the summer at The Blackhills Playhouse and then moved
from Nebraska to Astoria (a bit of a change).
Joie made his New York stage debut in March 2008 as the Governor in The Man of La Mancha
at the Duo Theatre. It was music directed by Justine Levine of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.
Recent New York Theatre credits include: The Glass House with Harris Yulin, nominated
for a New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Ensemble (The Clurman / Theatre Row),
They Call Him Young Lou (The Cherry Pit), Control (The Cherry Lane), A Midsummer Night's Dream
(On The Square), and West Lethargy (59E59 St. Theatre / Edinburgh Fringe '09 / NY Fringe '10).
Recent NY FIlm credits include: "Watching" (lead / indie short) and a featured role,
Alan, in the new indie feature film "Turtle Hill". Joie has also worked on "30 Rock",
"Gossip Girl", "Rescue Me", and the Tony Scott film "The Taking of Pelham 123".
